Belper’s Wartime Secret Walk
This circular walk looks at Belper's little-Belper played a key role in the Allied victory. However, as those "in the know" never really talked about what they were doing, many people today have no idea of just how important a place it was. Even many of those living in the town at the time have no idea of what was happening right under their noses. This walk tells the story of the secret wartime work that took place in Belper and visits the sites involved.
Distance: 3.5 miles. Duration: 2.5 hours. Price: £5.00
Start point: Shortlands Car Park, Chesterfield Road (opposite St Peter's Church),
